A beautiful smile is a blessing of the God, but it is our duty to protect this blessing by practicing oral hygiene. Solution always lies in problems so to practice good oral habits first we should know what causes harm to our gums and teeth.

There are several reasons that affect our oral health like eating habits, smoking, chewing tobacco, bad choice of toothbrush or toothpaste. Daily routine:
It is very important to practice healthy routine for better oral health. Only daily brushing is not enough, we must brush twice a day or you can brush after every meal. However, brushing at least twice a day is as important as having a meal. Along with brushing you must use toothpaste suggested by your dentist to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Flossing:
Many times, brush fails to remove plaque stuck between teeth or gum lines. These plaques constantly form bacteria on teeth if not removed regularly. Hence, these plaques often become a reason of cavity and swollen gums. Hence, it is necessary to floss at least once in a day.

Mouth wash:
Bad breath is a common problem that people face even if they brush properly. Well, bad breath is not only the reason of improper brush habits, but it also happens due to various dental problems. Using fluoride is always helpful for adult and children for healthy teeth. Mouthwash is one type of fluoride. Using mouthwash solves problem to the extent. Mouthwash not only keeps away bad breath, but it also helps in cleaning mouth thoroughly.

Eating habit:
Mere brushing and flossing are not enough. We must regulate our diet too for oral health. Your good oral habits won’t help you if you keep eating snacks or foods that have high level of sugar. Stop smoking and tobacco:

Even if you practice all oral hygiene steps it is suggested to visit your dentist regularly as suggest by your doctor. These visits can depend on the condition of your teeth. However, rather delaying your tooth aches it is better to meet doctor whenever required.

Self examination:
We know ourselves better than anybody else does. Hence, regularly examine your mouth for problems like chipped or discolored teeth, swollen gums, or sores on your gums, cheeks or tongue. Consult doctor immediately if you notice any problem.
